Painting repair process......

Image
S o I’m beginning the repair process on this painting that was severely damaged by FedEx. Miraculously there’s only one small tear on one corner on the sides not even on the painting itself. The client didn’t open the box for a month so it’s become quite wrinkled, which is what I’m doing here trying to flatten it out. I’ll keep you posted!

Looking for Shipping Solutions

It seems like everything has changed since the world shut down for COVID.  The level of service from companies has diminished greatly.  Fed Ex is a prime example.  Somehow I missed the notice that the would now only cover up to $1000 for damages to ANY piece of art, painting or otherwise. I had a commissioned painting CRUNCHED and damaged severely.  That's how I found out that FedEx now only allows up to $1000 liability ----- even though I selected to purchase a higher shipment value. Then I get a message from one of the sites’ admin telling me that she had taken down my post Because it wasn’t her idea of what “Impressionism” is. At first I was taken aback. Then I was angry. But the more I thought about it, the more clear it became to me. When I began to seriously consider art as a career, I told myself that I didn’t want to paint like anyone else. I wanted to be unique in style, composition, and application. In short, I wanted my art to be recognizable as MY art. So what that means to me is that I don’t want to be classified as this or that. I want to paint the way that comes natural to me. And that’s what I have done and it has been a huge blessing! So to that person who was responsible for that rejection — reminding me that I don’t fit into that pigeonhole —or any o...
